frosty

The weather is something commonly discussed in Japan.
The most common phrase in summer seemed to be 'atsui desu ne?' (hot isn't it?) and now, no. 1 on the phrase list is... 'samui desu ne?' (yep you guessed it...cold isn't it?)
I guess the weather is generally something we chat about, when there's not much else to say or when we're attempting to make polite conversation

Yet the weather is something we can't avoid and recently Tokyo has been getting more than a little samui

Yesterday, the last day of 2004, the streets of Tokyo resembled scenes from a romantic winter wonderland.
And while some frolicked december snow others seemed to simply trudge their way through it...chanting 'samui, samui, samui'
